Professor Fabio flew solo to Sydney over the weekend to compete in the Sydney Open, a competition apart of the IBJJF competition circuit.
After 4 fights, Professor Fabio came away with double gold again. We are so happy for him. Fabio's weeks consist of teaching between the 3 south east QLD academies each week, training his students & himself, whilst balancing his family life. A true testament of hard work paying off.
Professor Fabio arrived back on the Gold Coast on Sunday night. Monday morning saw him up early for training at Heartbreak Conditioning with Coach Cole Smith. Cole has been Fabio's strength & conditioning coach for a long time, helping him prepare for his competitions. After S & C was done, Professor Fabio head straight to Galeb Brothers BJJ HQ (Gold Coast) to teach the morning all levels class. Once the night arrived Professor was back at HQ teaching and training in our adults advanced class preparing for this weekends schedule.
Saturday night is the very first Fight Night Championship which will be right in our backyard at Quality Hotel, Mermaid Waters. Professor Fabio will be facing Uros Culic from Arte Suave in a 20 minute submission only format. Once Sunday comes, Fabio will be back on the plane to Sydney to compete at the Subversion Jiu Jitsu Invitational.
Thats not it for Professor as the end of April he will fly to Abu Dhabi to compete in the Abu Dhabi World Pro against the best in the world. This is his 3rd consecutive year competing at the World Pro. After placing 2nd last year, he is looking for that top spot.
Another busy month for our Professor on the competition scene. We cant wait to see how his performance is at these upcoming competitions.
